HH-43 OPERATION   from   DaNang  Airbase, RVN 

 

First HH-43 activity at Da Nang AB, RVN was organized as follows :

TDY  DET.2 , CARC    arrived at Da Nang AB on 10 August 1964 with HH-43B  60-0279 and  60-0280
First flight took place on 16 Aug 1964

On 01 September 1964  DET Provisional.2, PARC was activated here ;   Aircraft :  60-0279, 60-0280
On 10 November 1964  DET.Prov.2 was reassigned to Nakhon Phanom AB, Thailand ,
                                                                                                          together with HH-43B 60-0279,  60-0280 and 62-4510

62-4510 was reassigned from Bien Hoa AB to DaNang AB, date unknown but sometime during October 1964

On 20 October 1964  DET.5 , PARC was activated here and received brand new HH-43F as follows :
63-9713 and  63-9714  arrived 20 October 1964
63-9715 was delivered on 26 October 1964

HH-43F  63-9713 ("RESCUE 95") crashed during combat mission on 02 Jun 1965 - for report see  63-9713

 

On 01 July 1965  DET.7 , 38 ARS , PARC was activated here to replace DET.5 , PARC ; aircraft : HH-43F  63-9714, 63-9715
