HH-43 OPERATION from PhanRang Airbase, RVN
The
first HH-43 unit at Phan Rang AB was DET.1, 38 ARRS which was
established here on 15 January 1966.
DET.1 was formerly based at Nakhon
Phanom AB (NKP) in Thailand.

from 15 Jan 1966 until 08 Feb 1969 The first HH-43B delivered to the unit was 59-1590 , which came from DET.5, Udorn AB on 13 March 1966 The second HH-43B was 58-1845, delivered from DET.4, Korat AB on 14 March 1966 58-1845 crashed on 10 October 1968 It was replaced by 60-0253, delivered from DET.8 , Cam Rhan Bay AB on 11 October 1968 |
