               *1)   During a rescue mission on 6 June 1966 this aircraft was hit by ground fire and had to make a forced  landing
                        into a small clearing . In less than three hours 39712 was recovered by a CH-47 and flown back to BienHoa AB.

               *2)   39712 was again hit by enemy fire and was damaged after a forced landing on 25 AUG 1966.

                        AFHRA-document states :
                                             An HH-43F (63-9712) from DET.6, 38 ARRSq was shot down by heavy ground fire
                                             during medical evacuation mission 6-38-118-25 August. After making a controlled
                                             crash, the crew was recovered with only minor injuries. The HH-43 was eventually
                                             picked up by an Army CH-47 helicopter and taken to Tan Son Nhut for repairs.

               ***      From 1 FEB until 23 FEB 1968 the assignment code was "VO" in stead of "CA".
               ****   Aircraft crashed, no further information.
